Update on Hero - The Cat Found in the Grotto

Yesterday morning, Nik called the vet and the doctor said the little cat had made it through the night, but he was still in critical condition.  We were hopeful.  It was many hours later, after the sun went down, that they called us and told us that after a struggle, he had passed away. 

The vet said he thinks it's possible that someone placed the cat there by the water bowl for me to find, perhaps knowing I was sympathetic to animals.  He said he thinks this because he has seen it before, and neither of us had ever seen the cat previously, and because it had been altered.

We named him Hero.
